It was a good fantasy story, but also suffered from everything working out far too conveniently and perfectly. I also did not like the excessive commentary in the narration. The book had too much of a moral theme, always going on about being kind, the changing of hearts, being genuine, and so on.

My opinions are much the same as for The Way of Kings, but I finished this book for a reading group.
